How are forced health insurance and auto insurance the same?

Many on here say that forced health insurance is the same as auto insurance, but how is that?

I do not need auto insurance if I do not own a car. I make that choice whether to drive or not. I do not get fined if I don’t have a car for not having auto insurance.
